Description
A quick and easy 20-minute baked salmon recipe featuring a sweet and tangy maple Dijon glaze. This one-pan meal is perfect for busy weeknights, requiring minimal prep and offering healthy, flavorful results.
Ingredients
- 4 salmon fillets (about 6 ounces each)
- 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
- 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon salt (divided)
- 1 lemon, cut into wedges (for garnish)
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley or dill, chopped (for garnish)
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a standard 13×18 inch baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil.
- In a small bowl, whisk together maple syrup, Dijon mustard, minced garlic, olive oil, black pepper, and half of the salt until smooth.
- Pat salmon fillets dry with paper towels and place them on the prepared baking sheet. Season tops lightly with remaining salt.
- Spread the glaze evenly over the top of each salmon fillet, ensuring coverage on the sides.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until salmon flakes easily with a fork and reaches an internal temperature of 125°F (medium-rare) to 140°F (well-done).
- Remove from oven and let rest for 2-3 minutes.
- Garnish with fresh herbs and serve immediately with lemon wedges.
Notes
Pat salmon dry before glazing to ensure the sauce sticks and doesn’t steam. Use real maple syrup, not pancake syrup. For extra caramelization, broil for the last 1-2 minutes. Do not overcook salmon as it continues to cook after removal from the oven. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days; do not freeze.
