Description
A fun, easy, and kid-approved creamy buffalo chicken dip that requires zero chopping and is perfect for bonding with children in the kitchen. It’s tangy, cheesy, and customizable for different heat levels.
Ingredients
Scale
- 8 oz (225g) cream cheese, softened
- 2 cups (250g) shredded rotisserie chicken
- 1/2 cup (120ml) buffalo sauce
- 1 cup (100g) shredded cheddar cheese, divided
- 1/2 cup (120ml) ranch dressing
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 2 stalks green onions, sliced
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×9 inch baking dish.
- Shred the rotisserie chicken and place it in a large mixing bowl.
- Add the softened cream cheese, buffalo sauce, ranch dressing, and garlic powder to the bowl.
- Stir the mixture until the cream cheese is mostly incorporated and the mixture is a uniform orange color.
- Stir in half of the shredded cheddar cheese, reserving the other half for the topping.
- Pour the dip into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
- Sprinkle the remaining cheddar cheese on top.
- Bake for 20 minutes until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and slightly golden around the edges.
- Remove from oven and let cool for 5 minutes.
- Garnish with sliced green onions and serve warm.
Notes
Ensure cream cheese is softened to avoid lumps. If using canned chicken, drain and pat dry thoroughly to prevent a runny dip. For a milder version, reduce buffalo sauce to 1/4 cup or mix mild and hot sauces. Can be made in a slow cooker on low for 2 hours.
