Game Day Crispy Air Fryer Chicken Wings Honey Garlic

  • Author: Liliana
  • Total Time: 25-30 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

These crispy air fryer chicken wings are tossed in a sticky, sweet, and savory honey garlic glaze. Perfect for game day or a quick weeknight dinner, they offer restaurant-quality crunch without the deep fryer.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 lbs chicken wings (party cut, drumette and flat attached)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 1 tbsp cold water
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Pat chicken wings completely dry with paper towels to ensure crispiness. Place in a large mixing bowl and toss with salt and black pepper.
  2. Preheat air fryer to 380°F (190°C). Line the basket with perforated parchment paper.
  3. Arrange wings in a single layer in the air fryer basket, ensuring they do not overlap. Cook for 10 minutes.
  4. Flip each wing and cook for another 8-10 minutes until golden brown and crispy. Remove wings to a plate.
  5. While wings cook, combine honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, apple cider vinegar, and red pepper flakes in a small saucepan over medium heat.
  6. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer, then whisk in the cornstarch slurry. Stir constantly until the sauce thickens and coats the back of a spoon (about 60-90 seconds). Remove from heat.
  7. Place the crispy wings back into the large mixing bowl. Pour the warm sauce over the wings and toss immediately until evenly coated and glossy.
  8. Serve immediately while hot.

Notes

Ensure wings are completely dry before seasoning to maximize crispiness. Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket; cook in batches if necessary. The sauce should be warm when tossing to help it adhere to the crispy skin. Store leftovers separately to maintain crispiness; reheat in air fryer at 380°F for 3-4 minutes.
