Description
A quick, affordable, and foolproof weeknight dinner featuring juicy, crispy air-fried chicken thighs seasoned with simple pantry spices. Perfect for families and ready in under 30 minutes.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1.5 lbs (680g) boneless, skinless chicken thighs
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp cornstarch (optional, for extra crispiness)
Instructions
- Pat the chicken thighs dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
- Place chicken in a mixing bowl and drizzle with olive oil.
- Sprinkle smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper over the chicken.
- Toss the chicken with your hands until every piece is evenly coated. If using cornstarch, add it now and toss again.
- Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 3-5 minutes.
- Arrange the chicken thighs in the air fryer basket in a single layer, ensuring they do not overlap.
- Cook at 400°F (200°C) for 12-15 minutes.
- Flip the chicken halfway through the cooking time (at the 6-minute mark) to ensure even browning.
- Check the internal temperature with a meat thermometer; it should reach 165°F (74°C).
- Let the chicken rest for 3-5 minutes before serving to allow juices to redistribute.
Notes
Do not overcrowd the basket as this causes steaming instead of crisping. If using frozen chicken, add 5-7 minutes to cooking time. For extra crispiness, toss with cornstarch before seasoning. Ensure chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
